CURATE YOUR OWN ESCAPE & CHOOSE YOUR CLASSES
There is a wide selection of classes to choose from over the course of the weekend, so you can decide whether to slow it down or step it up, with either energising or more relaxing classes.
The most popular ones will be scheduled more than once (and ones with little interest will give way to the very popular ones!). They include:

- HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training)
- Self-defence: Learn Key Moves
- Boxing Basics
- Kickboxing for Fitness
After booking your place you will be asked which classes you’re most interested in. The final schedule will be available about 4 weeks before. You will be able to join additional classes if there is availability on the day.

This is a wonderful refreshing tonic for the whole body. It helps keep muscles flexible, strong, and healthy. Flexibility allows us to maintain a range of motion in the joints, otherwise muscles can easily shorten and become tight. Regular deep stretching enhances our physical performance and helps reduce risks of injury. Releasing tension and knots through stretching the body also feels really good!
There will be 2 types of yoga classes on offer. For those new to yoga or who prefer a slower pace, there is Yoga for All, which will be a gentle class.
For those who are familiar with yoga and the sun salutation sequence, there will be a stronger session which will be a combination of Sivananda and Ashtanga yoga. You will be led through a flow of poses and sequences that will improve flexibility, stamina & strength, enhancing posture & encouraging a sense of well-being.
Pilates works the deep stabilising muscles to improve strength and posture. It has a strong mind/body connection,involving precise moves and specific breathing techniques. It increases body awareness which encourages more efficient and graceful movement.
This is a High Intensity Interval Training class in which you give one hundred percent effort through quick, intense bursts of exercise, followed by short recovery periods. This keeps your heart rate up and burns more fat in less time.
This is aimed at people who want to challenge themselves. But don’t be scared – Cilla will only encourage you to do what you can!
BOXING AND KICKBOXING
Putting on boxing gloves and hittingthe pads is very satisfying for beginners and non-beginners alike. You will practise classic punches hitting a boxing pad – not another person! Taught in a very safe environment, these classes are technical as well as a lot of fun . You will definitely leave feeling energised, and probably wondering where all the time has gone…
SELF-DEFENCE: LEARN KEY MOVES
That might sound very serious & dry, but it’s actually good fun – you’ll find yourself laughing a lot whilst practising some key moves! It’s a great introduction that Tony makes enjoyable as well as practical.
This introductory class will cover the fundamentals of awareness and self-defence – how to avoid confrontation and be aware of signs of trouble. You will learn some basic and effective physical self-defence moves that anyone can employ, whatever your strength or size.

We have two fantastic teachers taking the classes – both with a huge amount of experience and talent who’ll make sure you get the most of each session. They’ll make you feel welcome whether you’re a complete beginner or more experienced.

Sensei Tony Mousah is a highly experienced instructor and a 5th Dan black belt who has been practising martial arts for 35 years & teaching yoga for over 15 years. Always enjoyable, you’ll leave the class wondering where all the time has gone!
This weekend is designed for people who want to try a selection of classes they may never have tried before and curious to see what they are like, as well as take a class they already love.
Combining classes of your choice with free time means you can tailor the weekend – to be either energetic or more relaxed and slow-paced.
There is no judgement and everyone is welcome – alternatives are offered throughout classes, making them suitable for most people whatever your level of fitness and experience.

The newly refurbished Country Living St. George Hotel is a 4-star venue in the heart of Harrogate, perfectly located within reach of all the local attractions. It has a country charm with modern amenities, with plenty of space to relax and unwind.
Harrogate is an historic spa town, with a reputation for relaxing breaks to nurture your mind, body and soul amidst its famous waters and spa treatments.
The town centre is surrounded by 200 acres of open greenery, giving it a unique feeling of space. Among some of the famous attractions are its’ stunning Turkish Baths, as well as Bettys famous Tea Rooms.
There is a wide array of fabulous places to eat out to suit every pocket & taste, if that’s what you’d like to do on Saturday night, all within a few minutes walk.
TURKISH BATHS, MASSAGE & TREATMENTS
We’re 2 minutes from the historic Turkish Baths, where you can enjoy a unique experience, & they also offer a wide range of services & packages.
If you’d like a treatment but prefer not to leave the hotel, then that’s possible too. We’ve arranged for local therapists to provide a selection of massages & other treatments in the hotel itself.
The first class will be late Friday afternoon, with a 3-course meal in the evening. Classes will be scheduled throughout the weekend including before breakfast, with the last class finishing by lunchtime on Sunday.

All bedrooms have an en-suite bathroom; free WiFi, a television, hairdryer, telephone and hospitality tray with tea & coffee making facilities.
Choose from a twin, double, single or cosy double for single occupancy.
We’ll have a delicious 3-couse meal from a seasonal menu on the first evening. There will be a choice of dining times, depending on whether you opt for an evening class or not.
A full English and continental-style breakfast is served in the dining room on both mornings. Choose the time that suits you best – you might opt for a pre-breakfast class to start the day or decide to have a lie-in…
